Do you feel sad, low, down, having a loss of interest or pleasure in daily life activities? The symptoms seems familiar to all human beings. But, if they persist and affect our life substantially, then it can lead to depression. Depression is a not a disease. It is a common mood disorder in which people experience hopelessness and worthless. Getting the wisdom of life and law of Karma, one can permanently uplift the self from feeling down. Knowing that - ''I AM THE CREATOR of my own LIFE. And I CAN SHAPE my future with hands of my Karma.''
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 7.6% of people over the age of 12 have depression in any 2-week period. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), depression is the most common illness worldwide and the leading cause of disability. They estimate that 350 million people are affected by depression, globally.
First of all we should know that Depression is not a disease. It is the outcome of prolonged period of negative thinking about oneself, dissatisfaction, non fulfillment of desires, frustration & Expectations. When situations, people or work is not according to our way we feel harassed, hopeless, frustrated and then depressed.
Second, that this down feeling can be easily overcome by merely not taking negative information from media. If one is feeling lonely, good thing to do is to find something you love to do, which is productive and your time passes in happiness. Making good friends, watching useful program on TV, time with family, playing outside and reading books are few of them.
There are numerous sources of negative information in today's world. All these together give us a feeling of Emptiness. That is Loneliness. We always expect someone to take care of us, love us, and understand us. We feel that nobody understand us. Need of the Hour If you have been suffering from all these kind of feelings, no need to be worried. Remember that even if no one understands what you are going through, God is there for you. You are not alone in this world and you are not Lonely. If you feel lonely make friendship with God. Follow certain daily life tips and change your daily routine habits. You can easily overcome depression. Here is some advice:
1. Check your thoughts
You need to understand that how you have created depression. The way you think leads to the way you feel and result in depression. What we think repeatedly becomes our dominant thought. We attract everything towards us by giving that thought, either negative or positive. Because the universe is open to everything. It does not know what is negative & what is positive. It just returns back what you give. This is law of Attraction, the Universal Law. We commutate to the universe through our thoughts.
2. Free Yourself from expectations
Never ever expect anything from anybody. Do not expect all the emotional needs especially Love, care, respect, appreciation from anybody. Rather learn to accept Everyone as they are.
3. Do meditation daily
Learn to do meditation and practice daily in the morning. Meditation is not only a sitting or to focus on thoughts. No. Meditation on God (RajaYog) is a connection and having a direct personal relationship with God, the Supreme Soul. We can experience him as our Father, Mother, Teacher, Friend, Brother and a Guide (guru). 4. Practice Affirmation
Self Affirmations can raise your vibration to the high and uplift your self confidence. Affirmation is a blessing that you give to yourself. When you wake up in the morning say these lines to yourself:
1. I am a peaceful soul
2. I am a Pure soul
3. I am a powerful soul
4. I am perfect healthy physically, emotionally & mentally

5. Start doing the things that you love.
Everybody has some interests and hobbies. As you do what you love it will make you feel good. Avoid waste thoughts especially thoughts about past & future. Whatever happens is for good only. Love yourself first. Do not even think that you are having depression. Treat yourself as you used to be before.
6. Surround yourself with positive people
Positive people reflects positive vibrations and act as a very good motivator for others. Spend time with people who inspires you, motivates you, talk to people lovingly. Apart from that read inspirational books, do not read newspapers in the morning or do not spend time on social media too much. Surround your home environment with some pictures or flowers that will give you good feeling.
